The University of Chicago Medicine’s Orland Park Clinic is a 4-story, 106,000 SF medical office building. MEPIS was commissioned by ESA to provide MEP/FP design for the build out of the 4th floor, which was previously shell-space and was recently fit-out for corridors and partial private tenancy. Build-out spaces for the medical office included exam rooms, imaging rooms, minor procedure rooms, lobby, employee offices, and various support spaces.
Engineering scope of work included HVAC systems, electrical power distribution, branch outlets, lighting systems, raceways for low voltage systems, plumbing systems, and fire protection. Challenges for the design included providing new air handling units and designing plumbing systems around the existing building’s infrastructures through existing occupied spaces in the floor below.
