MEPIS was commissioned to assess the current condition and capacity of the existing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems at Thomas J. Waters Elementary School. The assessment was to determine whether these systems can be extended to support the new 29,200 GSF programmed Annex or replicating the systems if the extension was not feasible. Upon completion, a Schematic Design of the Annex (3,700 GSF) was developed based on the assessment’s findings and recommendations. The Annex was a linked three-story structure which included new classrooms, music room, library, and computer lab along with a lunchroom/multipurpose room.
