University of Illinois at Chicago College of Engineering

MEPIS was commissioned in partnership with Dewberry Architects for the construction of a new 65,000 SF engineering laboratory building; located at the corner of Taylor Street and Morgan Street in Chicago this facility houses the chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, and civil engineering departments. This project included lighting throughout the space (with emergency battery packs used for required final reserve power) and power distribution up to the laboratories, along with coordination of mechanical trades and lightning protection. Incoming services to the building were designed and located, along with other site utilities such as parking lot lighting.

Additionally, provisions were designed for the implementation of a possible wind-tunnel annex. The project is to be designed to LEED Silver at a minimum with LEED Gold as an inspirational goal.
