VOLTA Charging Station - Orland Park, Downers Grove, and Burr Ridge

Volta Charging has a unique business model that MEPIS supports. Volta provides electric vehicle charging stations (EVCS) that provide free charging to customers at various retail locations. The revenue engine behind the supply of these free stations is an advertising display screen on sides of the EVCS, which Volta rents to advertisers. MEPIS provided a two-stage design. When a retail landlord showed interest, MEPIS provided an on-site survey to confirm the best potential station locations (and angles for best advertising visibility).

After Volta confirmed the construction cost feasibility and executed a contract to provide the stations with the landlord, MEPIS provided site design services, which were full design and permit drawings, including creation of a site plan, electrical power distribution diagram, and various equipment installation and civil engineering details for the new, dedicated parking spaces. We then submitted for the city permit with the help of a Volta-selected contractor. Volta managed the construction after the permit was awarded, and the site opened to fulfill both advertising and charging needs.
