MEPIS was commissioned by University of Chicago Medicine for the renovation and remodel of approximately 800 SF on the fifth floor of the Center for Care and Discovery Building. The renovated space included a new GE Discovery Fluoroscopy device, three new procedure booms, equipment room, and control room. Work in the procedure room also included above ceiling structural work to support the fluoroscope rails and the boom, and below floor electrical and data wiring. All walls had appropriate radiation shielding installed. The flooring material is a specially designed poured floor that permits very precise control of overall floor level and has negative electro-static properties. Significant upgrades were made to the HVAC infrastructure including new air valves and humidifier. Additional med gas and re-routing of existing lines was accomplished to accommodate the new layout.
The procedure rooms is shared by the Gastroenterology, Perioperative, and Neurology Departments.
