Lincoln Yards G.1 - Life Sciences Building

MEPIS was commissioned by Environmental Systems Design (ESD) to provide Plumbing and Fire Protection Engineering Design and Peer Review services of the Mechanical and Electrical design for the new construction of the Lincoln Yards 9-story Parcel G.1, mixed use Core and Shell office and Light use Research Lab building. The project area was approximately 336,000 GSF. The Plumbing scope of work consisted of completing the Core & Shell building design of domestic hot and cold-water systems, the design of sanitary, waste, and vent piping systems and the design of storm draining systems. The Fire Protection and Fire Alarm scope consisted of completing building Core & Shell design of automatic sprinkler systems at the water supply and interior standpipe systems, design of sprinkler zones and layouts, design of special suppression systems for computer & control room spaces, design of fire alarm and mass notification systems in accordance with NFPA requirements. The Mechanical scope of work consisted of conducting peer review of the Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning systems, exhaust systems, temperature control systems, natural gas systems designed by ESD.  The Electrical scope consisted of conducting peer review for the building Core & Shell electrical normal distribution and emergency systems, the lighting power and controls, low voltage layout raceways for telecommunications and other low-voltage devices and power feeders and branch circuiting for Core & Shell mechanical equipment, appliances, and wiring devices and verification of building electrical load per CBC 2018 requirements designed by ESD.
