MEPIS was retained by Demonica Kemper Architects (DKA) to provide demolition design for their Mechanical and Electrical equipment on the roof for the roof replacement. MEPIS’ Mechanical scope included design of demolition of four abandoned roof mounted freezer units, coordinate disconnect and capped of all ammonia lines serving four abandoned freezer units, design modification to existing ammonia line insulation, and coordinated with roof contractor demolition of all roof mounted equipment to minimize roof deck penetration. The Electrical scope consisted of disconnection design of feeders and branch circuiting of four abandoned roof mounted freezer units, disconnection design of branch circuiting exhaust fan, coordinate with roof contractor demolition of all roof mounted equipment to minimize roof deck penetration, and provide a record set of drawings showing all modifications performed to the roof.
