MEPIS was commissioned by Grumman/Butkus Associates to provide assistance in the Retro-commissioning (RCx) of two chilled water systems at the University of Chicago Medicine (UCM) Campus. The chilled water was provided to the University of Chicago Medicine by two chilled water systems, 1) Central Plant Chilled Water System, and 2) Center for Care and Discovery (CCD) System. The Central Plant system served 20 buildings of approximately 3.75 million GSF. The CCD system served 4 buildings of approximately 2.45 million GSF. MEPIS performed a system investigation, with survey of sufficient data to allow the team to create updated single-line drawings for the chilled water system including bridges and major cooling loads. Assisted with functional testing of bridges and the chilled water plants, and overall assistance with commissioning activities.
